Slater Schools Supt. Dr Terry Lorenz says he’s encouraged by recent signs of increased student interest in programs offered through the district.

Lorenz tells KMMO News that during last month’s school board meeting, the counselor’s report indicated high interest in a showcase day recently hosted by Slater for students about to graduate eighth grade from the area’s K-8 districts.

Lorenz notes that eligible students will complete their high school enrollment later this month. He adds that increased enrollment is showing up in two other areas.

School administrators at Slater Schools noted during their reports current attendance figures of 226 students in the elementary school and 145 students at the high school, with attendance at both around 93 percent during the past month.
