
The Marshall High School Baseball team picked up its first win of the season, coming from behind to beat Warrensburg 6-3 on Wednesday, April 2.
Warrensburg got on the board first, scoring a run in the first inning off Marshall starter Brody Kueker. The Owls tied the game in the fourth after a Kye Wilcoxson RBI single.
Marshall would take the lead an inning later after Chase Thompson drove home Wyatt Griffitt with a bunt single.
Warrensburg rallied for two more runs in the top of the sixth, but the lead wouldn’t last for the Tigers, as Marshall took advantage of three Warrensburg errors to score four runs in the bottom of the inning.
Brody Kueker finished what he started in the seventh, shutting the Tigers down to pick up the first win of the season. Kueker went seven innings, giving up three runs on nine hits and a walk. He struck out four Tiger batters.
The Owls improve to 1-5 on the season, while Warrensburg falls to 5-4. Marshall will be back in action on Saturday for a Triangular in Salisbury. The Owls will face Salisbury at 10 and Richmond at 12:30 p.m.
