The Kansas City Royals fell to the Milwaukee Brewers 3-2 after an extra-inning battle.

The Brewers struck first with a solo homer from Jackson Chourio in the first inning, but that would be the only damage allowed by Royals starter Cole Ragans, who struck out ten batters in five innings of work. Kansas City tied the game in the second with an RBI single from Cavan Biggio.

The Brewers got a gem from Freddy Peralta, who went eight innings, allowing just one run on two hits with eight strikeouts.

The game remained tied up until the tenth inning when Michael Massey hit a go-ahead RBI single to give Kansas City their first lead of the game. Chourio responded in the bottom half of the inning by drilling a game-tying RBI double off Carlos Estévez. Estévez was then forced into a tight spot after loading the bases with no outs. He escaped trouble after getting Sal Frelick to line-out, Jake Bauers to strikeout, and Vinny Capra to pop-out to end the inning.

Milwaukee began threatening again in the bottom of the 11th with a runner at third and only one out. That set up Brice Turang to bring home the winning run with a bunt single against Sam Long, who picked up his second loss of the season.

The Royals drop two out of three in the series and fall to 2-4 on the season. Kansas City has the day off Thursday before returning home to host Baltimore for a three game set on Friday. Pregame coverage begins at 6, with first pitch at 6:40 on KMMO FM 102.9.
