Sedalia School District 200 received recognition during a ceremony Tuesday, April 1 in Jefferson City for all its buildings earning the Purple Star designation.
Supt. Dr Todd Fraley represented the district at a ceremony in the State Capitol. Fraley says it’s not just the active military serviceman making a sacrifice, but their families.
Smith-Cotton High School received the Purple Star designation last year, with the remaining buildings in the district picking up the honor this month. Fraley says the district’s support for military families continues to grow.
Tuesday’s ceremony marked the start of the Month of the Military Child, which is celebrated each April.
