Harold J. Hemeyer, 93, of Warsaw, MO, formerly of Marshall, died Thursday, April 3, 2025, at The Living Center in Marshall.

Memorial services with military rites will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2025, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall with William W. Harlow officiating.  Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.  Private inurnment will be held at a later date in the Missouri State Veterans’ Cemetery in Higginsville.  Memorials are suggested to Saline Animal League and an online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com

Born July 16, 1931, in Hope, MO, he was the son of the late Edward “Ed” Hemeyer and Elsie Kreger Hemeyer.  Harold lived in Marshall most of his life and was a 1949 graduate of Marshall High School.  He was drafted into the United States Army in 1952 and was honorably discharged in 1954 having attained the rank of sergeant.  His career was spent as a cabinet maker, owning and operating Hemeyer Cabinet Shop.  On October 4, 1980, he married Virginia Clarkson Gibson who preceded him in death on May 18, 2020.  Harold and Virginia moved to the Warsaw area in 2008 where they enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing, animals and nature.  He loved his family and enjoyed the opportunities to go with his son, Jeff, to pick up old cars.

Survivors include three children: Jeff Hemeyer (April) of Marshall, Vicki Purcell of Overland Park, KS and Robbie Gibson of Marshall; five grandchildren: Erika Gregorian (Artur), Nicholas Purcell, Emily Purcell, Cassandra Bruce (Kalen) and Jack Hemeyer (Mackinnley); three great-grandchildren: Kai Alvarez, Amity Bruce and Phoebe Gregorian; as well as other extended family.

In addition to his parents and wife, Harold was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Scott Purcell; and a sister, Arlene King.
