Seth Lugo had a quality start, Vinnie Pasquantino and Maikel Garcia combined to drive in six runs, and the Kansas City Royals opened its series with the Baltimore Orioles with an 8-2 win on Friday, April 4.

Kansas City got on the board first with an RBI double from Salvador Perez in the first inning. Baltimore would then take the lead in the second, scoring two runs (one earned) off Lugo. That would be the only damage allowed by Lugo, who went six innings, giving up just five hits and a walk. He struck two Baltimore batters in the winning effort.

Kansas City regained the lead with a two run single from Garcia in the fourth. The Royals padded their lead in the eighth, scoring five runs to take a commanding 8-2 lead.

Kansas City now improves to 3-4 with the win, while Baltimore falls to 3-5. The Royals will go for the series win today. Pregame coverage begins at 2:30, with first pitch at 3:10 on KMMO AM 1300.
