The Carrollton Town Council spent a significant portion of last Monday’s meeting discussing road and bridge projects the town needs to complete over the next year.

The council gave their approval to the city’s repavement projects for the year. Mayor Susan Bliss says the project list was pared down after bids to finish all the projects came back around $400,000.

The council also visited with Carroll County Presiding Commissioner Stan Falke about the need to replace the Washington Street Bridge over Standley Creek.

Also at Monday night’s meeting, the town council updated the permit for Praise Fest, which will now take place Aug. 6-9. After a public hearing at the beginning of the meeting, the council voted to condemn a structure on the 400 block of East Third, and granted an extension for a structure on the 500 block of West Heidel to make enough repairs to avoid being declared a dangerous building and listed for possible demolition.
