For the third time this season, the Kansas City Royals failed to score a run, falling to the Cleveland Guardians 7-0 on Friday, April 11.

It was a pitcher’s dual between Kris Bubic and Tanner Bibee until the fourth inning, when Gabriel Arias drilled a three-run homer to put Cleveland on the board. Bubic would finish the day going six innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits and two walks with five strikeouts.

Cleveland added four more runs in the eighth, putting the game out of reach for Kansas City.

Bobby Witt Jr. reached base four times in the game, recording two hits and two walks.

The Royals fall to 7-7 on the season. Kansas City will look to even the series at Progressive Field on Saturday, April 12. Michael Lorenzen gets the start for the Royals. Pregame begins at 4:30 p.m., with first pitch at 5:10 on KMMO AM 1300.
