The Marshall Municipal Utilities Board of Public Works considered two bids for well treatment and maintenance during its most recent meeting.
MMU wants to treat five wells and pull two for inspection and repairs to help lengthen the life of the wells and maintain their quality. The board reviewed two bids during the meeting, both of which came in over the $60,000 budget.
The low-bid came from C and B Equipment Midwest in the amount of $83,380. However, Water Treatment Director Travis Boss reported problems with that company after working with them on previous well maintenance projects. The other bid came from Flynn Drilling Company in the amount of $95,373. After some discussion, the board approved the bid from Flynn Drilling Company.
In other news, the board approved a motion to request bids for asphalting work on the driveway of the UV Building. The existing driveway for this building is gravel and washes out every time it rains.
The next board meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 30.
