Three men were injured—one seriously—after their vehicle was struck from behind on a Benton County highway Sunday, April 13.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says that around 4:20 p.m., a Toyota was approaching Warsaw on Route 7, when at the intersection with Cold Spring Avenue, a Dodge driven by a 17-year-old from Edwards overtook the vehicle. The Dodge struck the Toyota in the rear, totaling the Toyota. The 32-year-old driver of the Toyota had no reported injuries; however, a 37-year-old man from Windsor suffered serious injuries and was flown to a Kansas City area hospital. Two other men in the vehicle, ages 31 and 35, sustained minor injuries and were taken to a Clinton hospital. Troopers say that while the driver of the Toyota was wearing her seat belt, it’s unknown if her three passengers were at the time of the crash.
