The Boonville City Council is meeting Tuesday, April 15, to accept the results of the April 8th Municipal Election and swear in its recently elected council members.

Incumbents Drew Davis in Ward 2, Whitney Veneable in Ward 3, and Barry Elbert in Ward 4 all secured re-election. Each candidate ran uncontested in their races. There was no listed candidate on the ballot in Ward 1, but Tanner Bechtel received 42 write-in votes, representing almost 78 percent of the vote.

The city’s capital improvements sales tax was also supported by voters, passing with 74 percent voter approval.

After the council members are sworn-in, the council will elect a Mayor Pro Tem.

The council also plans to consider the second reading of a bill amending the schedule of fees pertaining to the Aquatic Center Admittance Fees.
