The Norborne R-8 School District Board of Education certified the April 8th Municipal Election results and voted for new board officers during its meeting on Monday, April 14.

Chris Leabo secured re-election with 231 votes. The board also welcomed newly elected Suzanne Hamilton, who collected 190 votes in the race. The district’s bond measure, Proposition Pirates, also passed with 79 percent of the vote.

The board then elected officers, selecting Leabo as President, Josh Elliott as Vice-President, Shawna Bartlett as Secretary, and Megan Armstrong as Treasurer. The board also conducted three interviews to fill an addition board member vacancy. Superintendent Jennifer Courtney says the board will announce its decision later this week.

The board’s next meeting is scheduled for Monday, May 12.
