The Slater City Council considered a potential renewal for its trash service contract during its meeting Tuesday, April 14.

City Administrator Gene Griffith said RTS gave the council three options to choose from to renew the contract. Griffith detailed each of the options and the monthly costs each resident could see.

The council did not make a decision, wanting to get input from constituents before voting. The council will make a decision during its meeting on May 6.

In other news, the council brought up several events being hosted in the city over the next few months. A rabies shot clinic is scheduled at the Slater Volkfest Building from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 8. Shots are $20 per animal.

City-wide garage sales are planned for May 3 and the Slater Wine Walk is scheduled for May 17.
