Two Sedalia women are facing felony assault charges following a reported hit-and-run Monday, April 14 in a shopping center parking lot.

Sedalia Police responded around 6:20 p.m. Monday to reports of several incidents on the 700 block of East Broadway. According to probable cause statements, two women identified as 23-year-old Ashley Bardin and 21-year-old Josephine Marek, forced a driver out of their car and assaulted them with the vehicle’s door. Police say Marek then drove off with a blind passenger still in the vehicle, before returning to the parking lot and ramming another car, then fleeing from the scene. The accident caused injury to the passenger.

Bardin and Marek were discovered by police Tuesday evening at the home of a third woman on the 1000 block of East Fifth Street. The two were arrested, and are now facing charges of vehicle hijacking, first-degree robbery, second-degree assault, second-degree kidnapping, armed criminal action, and leaving the scene of an accident. Both are being held in the Pettis County Jail without bond. A court date for the two is pending. The woman accused of hiding Bardin and Marek was also arrested; charges against her are pending.
