The City of Glasgow has a new police chief, and they’ll welcome a new mayor to office Monday, April 21.

The Glasgow Board of Aldermen reviewed old business during their meeting Monday, April 14, including the hiring of a new police chief. City administrator Robert Snider tells KMMO News that the board approved the hire of TJ Livermore as police chief. Snider says that Livermore will be tasked with bringing the department back to full strength. Also Monday night, the board adopted an ordinance extending the senior center’s lease for a city-owned property.

The board also authorized Snider to hire a real estate agent to find a buyer for the third-floor loft over City Hall. Snider says that the loft is currently vacant and not accessible from the building’s lower floors, and could be remodeled into a one-bedroom apartment. Snider also reported that the city’s e-mail addresses are switching to @glasgowmo.gov instead of .org, and that the board of aldermen is close to hiring a new webmaster for a replacement website after the previous site went off-line last summer.

Snider adds that the new mayor Don Clear and central ward alderwoman Renna Bean will be sworn in during a special meeting of the Glasgow Board of Aldermen this Monday evening at 6:30 p.m.
