The Missouri Tigers could vault their way to the end of a 60-year drought this weekend, as the seventh-ranked gymnastics program clinched a spot in the “Four On The Floor” finals.

Mizzou Gymnastics took second in an all-SEC session in Fort Worth on Thursday, April 17, securing their first-ever appearance in the finals. The Tigers finished ahead of third-ranked Florida by 0.100, with Helen Hu’s balance beam routine sealing the spot for Mizzou. Hu’s 9.9875 won the senior the individual event title, making her the first gymnastics individual national champion from Mizzou. Her teammates scored 9.8500 or higher to lead Mizzou to a 197.300, a quarter of a point behind top-ranked Oklahoma, who were led by the all-around champion Jordan Bowers.

Mizzou will compete Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. against the Sooners, as well as Utah and UCLA. The Utes’ and Bruins’ finish in the second session denied LSU an opportunity to repeat as national champions.
