The Town of Carrollton will host a solid waste collection event for area residents Saturday, April 26.

The collection event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at the Carrollton Street Department on County Road 280 in Carrollton. Outgoing Mayor Susie Bliss details what the event will accept from residents.

The collection event is for residents only and not businesses or commercial waste. The Missouri Department of Natural Resources and North Missouri Solid Waste Management District Region B are assisting with the drop off. In addition to Carrollton, residents from Caldwell, Carroll, Chariton, Daviess, Linn, and Livingston counties can bring eligible solid waste to Saturday’s collection.

Meanwhile, the Carrollton Town Council will meet Monday evening at 6 p.m., when Keith Higgins will take the oath of office to succeed Susie Bliss as mayor.
