
The Kansas City Current’s perfect start to the NWSL season continued Saturday, April 19 with a 2-0 victory over the Houston Dash at CPKC Stadium.
Lo’eau LaBonta sent her penalty kick in the 21st minute to the top left corner to put the hosts on the board. Kayla Sharples rose above a crowd in the penalty area on a corner kick to head home the Current’s second goal in the 62nd minute. Lorena notched her fourth shutout of the season, as the Current have allowed just one goal this season.
Coupled with losses by the Orlando Pride and Angel City, the Current are the last unbeaten team in the NWSL, leading the league with 15 points. They take their perfect season on the road to North Carolina next weekend to face the Courage; kickoff is Saturday at 6:00 p.m.
