
The Concordia R-2 School District Board of Education accepted the results of the April Municipal Election and welcomed new board members Scott Gard and Leslie Basye.
Seven candidates ran for the two available seats on the board. Gard led all candidates with 164 votes. Basye narrowly beat out incumbent Nathan Nelson by five votes to take the second available seat on the board. Incumbent Scott Hemme did not run for re-election. Superintendent Theresa Christian thanked Nelson and Hemme for their service on the board.
The board also voted on new officers, electing Tim Kirchhoff as President, Erik Wilkens as Vice President, Andy Oetting as Secretary, and Gard as Treasurer.
The board’s next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 14.
