The Marshall Owls fell to the Kirksville Tigers 17-2 during an NCMC clash at Marshall High School.

Brody Kueker ran into trouble in the first inning, giving up hits to each of the first five batters in the game. The Tigers took the lead after a two-run home run from Luke Cahalan and an RBI double from Cole Kelly.

Kirksville would add more two in the second to make it 5-0.

The Owls got on the board in the third after a lead-off double from Ian Miles. Miles advanced to third after a single from Chase Thompson, then came home to score after a wild pitch.

Kirksville responded by adding six runs in each the fourth and fifth to make it 17-1. Marshall got a run back in the bottom of the fifth, but that would be all the bats could muster as the game was over after the fifth.

Brody Kueker took the loss, going three and a third, allowing ten runs on eleven hits and two walks. Miles went three for three at the plate, with two singles, a double, and a run scored.

The Owls fall to 1-11 on the season. Marshall will be back on action Friday to take on the Hannibal Pirates on the road.
