A two-vehicle collision north of Knob Noster resulted in five people experiencing injury early Wednesday, April 23.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that just before 5 a.m., a vehicle driven by a 40-year-old woman from La Monte failed to yield to oncoming traffic as she attempted to turn onto Route E from the southbound lane of Route 23. Troopers say her vehicle struck the oncoming vehicle on the right side, resulting in both vehicles going off the east side of the roadway and coming to rest off the northeast corner of the intersection.
A passenger in the first vehicle, a 33-year-old man from La Monte, sustained moderate injury and was taken to a Warrensburg hospital. Two others in the La Monte car were also taken to Warrensburg with minor injuries. Troopers say no one in that vehicle had been wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash. The other vehicle’s driver and a passenger had minor injuries; both refused treatment at the scene.
