The St Louis Blues overwhelmed the Winnipeg Jets with five unanswered goals, forcing Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck out of the net early for the second straight game, as the Blues evened the playoff series with a 5-1 win Sunday, April 27 at Enterprise Center.

The Jets started the scoring off with Kyle Connor’s third goal of the series, sending a backhander past Jordan Binnington 14 minutes into the contest. The lead would last until 23 seconds remaining in the first period, when Jake Neighbours tipped in the tying goal. From there, the Blues and their fans would take momentum, with Tyler Tucker, Brayden Schenn, and Justin Faulk all scoring in the second period to give the Blues the lead. Robert Thomas’ backhander two minutes into the final period was enough for Hellebuyck, who was yanked from goal in favor of Eric Comrie. Jordan Binnington stopped 30 Winnipeg shots on goal, while the Blues only attempted 24 shots.

The best-of-seven series is now tied at two apiece, assuring St Louis of another home game. The Blues will look to make that game an opportunity clinch the series, as Game Five is north of the border this Wednesday evening at 8:30 p.m.
