The Marshall High School Debate Squad competed in the Missouri State Speech and Debate Tournament this past weekend.

Brianna Carrillo placed 7th in the State in Prose Reading. Carrillo also placed 14th in Poetry Reading, and placed 19th in Public Forum along with Elizabeth Granillo.

Liam Conner and Tyler Surface finished 15th in Public Forum Debate. Piper Brunson placed 17th in Lincoln-Douglas Debate and Maya Mackey was 18th in Original Oratory.

The team’s next tournament will be at the National Speech and Debate Tournament in June.
