
Harold Lee Lueck, 90, of Alma, MO, passed away Monday, April 28, 2025, at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, MO.
Born on October 24, 1934, at home, Harold was the son of Norbert Lueck and Amalia Oetting Lueck. He was baptized at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Flora and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Blackburn, MO. He attended Alma High School and graduated in May of 1952. Harold worked a couple of years, sold a cow, bought an engagement ring, and married his high school sweetheart, Edith Nienhueser, on September 15, 1956, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Alma. Edith preceded him in death on April 14, 1978. Harold married Hazel Becker on August 11, 1987, at LaMonte Christian Church in LaMonte, MO, and she survives of the home.
Harold worked at TWA for 36 years and retired in 1992. After retirement, Harold was Mayor of Alma for several years. He also enjoyed helping his son on the farm, playing golf, traveling, deer hunting, always up for a good game of pitch and attending his grandkids’ activities. He was an active, long-time member of the Alma Lions Club and Trinity Lutheran Church. He had a good life, and he loved well. Well done, good and faithful servant.
In addition to his wife, Hazel, Harold is survived by his three children: David Lueck and wife Debbie, Cindy Heins and husband Mark, Karen Scott and husband Buddy; three step-children: Sheila Buesing and husband Marvin, Neal Becker and Jennifer Wood, and Nancy Jones; 17 grandchildren: Brendon (Katie) Lueck, Justin (Lauren) Lueck, Whitney (Joe) Tvrdy; Kelly (Spencer) Isenogle, Haley (Aaron) Meyer, Courtney (Jeremy) Goering, Devon (Sam) Schmidt, Marshall (Jessica) Buesing, Nicholas (Elizabeth) Buesing, Chenelle Buesing (Dylan Mackey fiancé), Audrey Buesing, Andrew (Marissa) Jones, Jennifer (Danny) Payne, Bethany (Joe) Grizzle, Roger (Andrea) Jones, Andrea (Tim) Nugen and Brandi (Joe) Hawken; 30 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Edith, his brother Vernon Lueck, his sister Geraldine Steffens, and a step-son-in-law Brian Jones.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 5, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Alma, with Pastor Bernard Ross officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service and the burial will be in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Trinity Lutheran Church in Alma, Saint Paul Lutheran High School in Concordia, Santa Fe High School FFA in Alma or Alma First Responders in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home.
