A Sedalia couple’s longtime support for State Fair Community College will be recognized with the naming of the college’s newest building.

SFCC announced Wednesday, April 30 that the school’s new agriculture and mechanics building will be named in honor of Steve and Karen Ellebracht. The two sit on the SFCC Foundation Board, with Steve serving as its chairman. They recently made a $2 million donation as part of the Driving Growth, Harvesting Tomorrow capital campaign aimed at raising $20 million for construction of the new facility on the southwest corner of campus.

When the 60,000 square-foot facility opens in the fall, the Ellebracht Building will house programs providing students with hands-on training in precision agriculture, agricultural mechanics, automotive and light diesel technology, and commercial driving.
