The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating a shooting involving  deputies with the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office.

The Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control says the incident occurred when the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office attempted to serve a search warrant at a residence on Missouri Highway BB at 6 a.m. Friday, May 2. A suspect reportedly fired shots, striking two deputies.

MSHP says one deputy returned fire, but did not strike the suspect. The suspect was taken into custody. Both deputies were taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

One of the deputies has since been released from the hospital. The other deputy is still receiving treatment at this time.
