
The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to three accidents Sunday, May 4, each of which resulted in injury to area residents.
First, around 8 a.m. in southern St Louis County, a Napoleon woman suffered moderate injury when her vehicle went off an interstate. The Patrol reports that a 42-year-old woman was driving her sedan south on Interstate 55, when as she approached the interchange with Meramec Bottom Road, her vehicle went off the right side of the roadway and struck some trees. She was treated at an area hospital.
A Lincoln man experienced serious injury when his vehicle hit a series of trees on a Benton County roadway east of Warsaw. The Patrol responded to this crash around 8:15 a.m. on Route H west of Herbert Road. According to troopers, the 35-year-old driver was heading west on the roadway when he crossed the center line and overcorrected. That resulted in the vehicle going off the right side of the roadway and striking several trees. He was taken to a Sedalia hospital. Troopers say the driver was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.
A Holden man sustained moderate injury Sunday afternoon around 3:45 p.m. after his all-terrain vehicle slipped on gravel on a Johnson County highway. Troopers report that the 68-year-old man was driving his Kawasaki south on Route 131, when near the intersection with NW 500 Road south of Pittsville, his ATV struck a patch of gravel and lost contact with the roadway, eventually landing in the southbound lane. The driver was taken to a Kansas City area hospital for treatment of moderate injuries. The vehicle was reported as totaled.
