The Carrollton Town Council approved a rezoning request Monday, May 5 for a new landscaping business.
Mayor Keith Higgins tells KMMO News that the request was the subject of a public hearing that started yesterday’s council meeting. Higgins says the owner of a property on the 500 block of West Heidel Street plans to run a landscaping business from his garage, which required a rezoning from R-1 to C-2. Also Monday night, the council approved an ordinance allowing parking on North Jefferson Street near the Carroll County Area YMCA.
Two ordinances under new business were also approved. The Town Council approved amendments sought by Carrollton Municipal Utilities to regulate the installation and connection of solar panels, and also increased the permit fee for fence installations to $20 from $10. A third ordinance amending the town’s ordinance on nuisance vehicles was tabled for discussion at a later meeting.
