The Higginsville Municipal Utilities Electric Department was recognized with a Reliability of Excellence Award from the Missouri Public Utility Alliance (MPUA) for the fifth straight year.

MPUA Senior Member Advisor Dennis Klusmeyer attended the Board of Alderman meeting on Monday to present the award. City Administrator Jeanette Dobson said the award puts the department in exclusive company both in the state and the nation.

Higginsville Municipal Utilities has exceeded the five year average for all U.S. electric utilities for reliable electric service.
