Cole Camp senior Spencer Godwin picked up top individual honors at the Class Two, District Four golf tournament Thursday, May 8 in Lawson, leading his Bluebirds to a third place finish.

Godwin shot a 73 at the Hidden Valley Golf Club to claim a two-stroke victory over East Buchanan sophomore Logan Jessen. Godwin along with Gage Oelrichs (79) both qualified as individuals for the Class Two state tournament, set for May 19 and 20 at the Sedalia Country Club. As a team, Cole Camp finished four strokes behind second-place Trenton and eight behind district champions East Buchanan. Among area schools, Brookfield finished tied for fourth with a 331, with Devan Parn (79) and Brock McLaury (81) both qualifying for state. Windsor finished with a 350, good for seventh place, while Carrollton was one stroke back. Both schools qualified one golfer, with Casson Kipping of Carrollton tied for seventh with a 79 and Windsor’s Chase Hampton shooting an 80. Two other teams competed at Lawson, with Lexington shooting a 459 and Lafayette County wrapping up the day on 494.
