The St. Louis Cardinals offense stayed red hot, and Erick Fedde went the distance in a 10-0 win over the Washington Nationals on Friday, May 9.

Willson Contreras got St. Louis on the board in the first inning with a two-run double. The Cardinals continued to add runs in the third, fourth, and fifth to make it 6-0.

The Cardinals continued to pour it on in the eighth and ninth to stretch the lead to 10-0.

Erick Fedde tossed a complete game shutout, fanning eight batters.

Contreras had two hits and three RBIs. Ivan Herrera drove in two runs in his return from the injured list.

The Cardinals improve to 20-19 on the season, two games back of the Cubs in the NL Central. The Cardinals will continue their series in Washington on Saturday. First pitch is at 3:05 p.m.
