ConAgra Brands and the Missouri Department of Economic Development announced Friday an expansion of ConAgra’s longstanding operation in Macon.

The foods manufacturer says they will invest $29.1 million in their Macon facility, replacing outdated equipment and adding new equipment that will increase cooler and preparation space, enhance production capacity, and improve sustainability. The additional equipment will support the creation of 26 additional jobs. The new equipment will include bake ovens and freezers, dewatering process equipment, and raw meat inspection process equipment.

ConAgra will make use of the Missouri Works program, which will provide access to capital through withholdings of tax credits for job creation. The company is eligible for assistance from Missouri One Start, which will assist with the recruitment and training needs.
