A Marshall woman has been charged with several felonies following an investigation conducted by the Marshall Police Department earlier this year.
A law enforcement officer with the department spoke to a witness working for Fitzgibbon Hospital in reference to forgery. The witness reported multiple transactions from the hospital’s bank portal being paid to a former employee, Christine Tuttle, who worked for the institution from June through November in 2024.
Tuttle allegedly altered and redeposited her payroll checks multiple times between August 2, 2024 to January 30, 2025, leading to a loss of $3,465.96 for the hospital. Police reviewed bank statements and images of the altered checks, which were deposited via mobile deposit.
Police attempted to contact Tuttle at her residence, but later found out she had traveled to North Dakota. Officers managed to get in contact with Tuttle over the phone, but she denied any knowledge of altering or digitally depositing her payment checks.
Tuttle has been charged with three felonies for forgery and three for stealing $750 or more. Bond has been set at $10,000 cash or surety. A warrant for Tuttle’s arrest was issued on Monday, May 12.
