The Odessa Board of Aldermen approved a contract agreement with for fiber internet services during its meeting on Monday, May 12.

City Administrator Shawna Davis says aldermen approved the agreement Socket LLC, who is currently installing fiber internet for city residents.

Davis notes the city’s monthly bill will be $999 per month with this agreement, which will save the city about $155 per month.

In other news, the board approved a special event permit for Puddle Jumper Days, which runs from July 31 to August 3, 2025. Aldermen also approved a street closure for the event, approving the request to close the four-way intersection of 2nd and Mason Streets.
