The Marshall Owls dropped their final home game of the 2025 Spring Baseball season to the Moberly Spartans 8-1 on Tuesday, May 13.

The Spartans took control of the game early, scoring two runs in the first against Brody Kueker.

After tossing a scoreless frame in the second, Kueker would give up a run in each the third and fourth, three more in the fifth, and one more in the sixth.

He finished going six innings, allowing eight runs on nine hits and three walks. He also finished with four strikeouts.

The Owls finally got on the board in the seventh after Ian Miles drew a lead-off walk. He advanced after singles from Wyatt Griffitt and Myer Klinge, then scored on a base hit from Parker Hisle.

Moberly starter Jackson Engel went the distance for the Spartans, giving a run on four hits and three walks. Engel struck out nine Marshall Owls in the winning effort.

The Owls fall to 2-19 on the season. They wrap up the regular season on the road in Boonville on Thursday, May 15. The Owls will then compete in the Class 5 District 5 Tournament in Jefferson City, which begins Thursday, May 22. Tournament seeding and brackets will be announced at a later date.
