The Marshall Municipal Utilities Board of Public Works reviewed nine bids to replace a truck for the Water Distribution Department during its meeting Wednesday, May 14.

MMU opened bids to replace a 2006 Ford F-150 on April 24. The board reviewed nine bids from seven different vendors. The board approved the low bid from Elmer Hare Ford in the amount of $27,165 for a 2025 Ford Maverick. The delivery time for this new vehicle is 12 to 16 weeks.

In other news, the board received an update regarding the after main replacement project on College Street. Crews have installed approximately 280 feet of sewer main since construction began on April 30.

MMU’s next board meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 28.
