The Missouri Department of Transportation will begin resurfacing U.S. Route 65 in Carroll and Livingston counties this Monday, May 19.
The project will take five months to apply a new surface between U.S. Route 36 in Chillicothe and to Route CC just north of Carrollton. Traffic will be reduced to one lane with a 12-foot width restriction. Flag crews will direct motorists through the work zone. MoDOT has awarded the project to Capital Paving and Construction, and expects them to complete the project by mid-October.
Two separate improvement projects are also taking place this month along Route 65 through Chillicothe. Capital Paving is also repairing curbs and entrances along Route 65 from Business Route 36 north to Second Street. Another repaving project between routes 36 and 190 will see Polk Street in Chillicothe closed just west of Route 65 next week. Motorists will need to find an alternate route. Crews will also conduct short closures of Bryan Street, Waples Street, Curtis Street, and Ryan Lane, all just west of Route 65, during this repaving project.
