William Stephen VanVickle, 78, of Sedalia, died Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at the Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church Sacred Heart Chapel, with Rev. Joseph Corel officiating.  Burial with military honors will be in St. Martin Cemetery at Rhineland, Missouri.  Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until Recitation of the Rosary at 10:40 A.M. at the church.  Memorials are suggested to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Foundation or the Disabled American Veterans in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel in Sedalia.

Born July 13, 1946 in St. Joseph, Missouri, he was the son of the late William K. and Melba Seitz VanVickle.  On August 4, 1972 at Sacred Heart Church in Sedalia, he married Judith Fitzgerald, and she survives of the home.

Also surviving are three sons, Patrick VanVickle of Apex, North Carolina, Gregory VanVickle of Peoria, Arizona, and Karl VanVickle of Knob Noster; four grandchildren; and two sisters, Jennifer VanVickle of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and Jeanette VanVickle of Cary, North Carolina.

Mr. VanVickle was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church Sacred Heart Chapel.  He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam era, serving as an Air Force Pilot.  He graduated from Central Missouri State University with a degree in Mass Communications.  He worked as a radio personality for KSIS Radio for several years, and was also a small business general contractor.  He was an avid Ham Radio operator, with the call sign WØZE.  He was a loving and generous husband and father.
