Helen was born in April 1934, to Raymond Bishop and Thelma (Bennett) Bishop in Boonville, Missouri. She graduated from Laura Speed Elliott High School in 1952.

She was united in marriage to Raymond Kenneth Huth in March 1954, at the Evangelical Reformed Church in Boonville, MO and they were married almost 70 years at the time of his passing. After they were married, she joined him in Olympia, WA where they lived for 19 months while he was stationed at Ft. Lewis. During that time, she was employed as a secretary at the State Capital. Following his discharge from the Army, they returned to Boonville on the farm where they raised their family.

Helen quietly adapted to farm life and learned how to drive a tractor, tend a garden raising beautiful flowers, and all other duties of a farm wife. She became a member of the Lutheran Church and taught Sunday school for 29 years, was a member of the choir, and Ladies Aid and served in several offices and was a Synodical Treasurer of the church for 3 years. She worked for Clarks Fork Mutual Insurance Company for 30 years as a secretary to her husband who was the Manager/Secretary/Treasurer.

When he retired, she was promoted to that position which she held until her retirement in 1999. She was active in several organizations such as Prairie Home School PTL, Cooper County Extension Council, Cooper County Homemakers Council, Zion 4-H Club, Jefferson Community Extension Club, and Missouri Association of Mutual Life Insurance Ladies Auxiliary, and held numerous offices.

She enjoyed very much watching her sons play sports and then her grandchildren and next her great grandchildren. Each member of her family has a Christmas stocking to hang at her house which she made. She also made one for each of her grandchildren for their homes.
