
The Marshall High School Baseball team’s season came to a close in the Class 5 District 5 quarterfinals with a 10-0 loss to Jefferson City on Wednesday, May 21.
The Jays scored runs early and often, taking a 2-0 lead after the first inning. Jefferson City added four more in the third, one in the fourth, and two more in the fifth before scoring the game-ending tenth run in the sixth.
Brody Kueker started the game for Marshall, going 2.1, giving up six runs on nine hits. Kye Wilcoxson came on in relief and gave up four runs over three innings.
The Owls only recorded three hits, two from Ian Miles and one from Logan Kirchhoff.
The Owls end the season at 2-21. Jefferson City improves to 25-7 and advance to the semifinals of the tournament.
