The City of Brunswick is making its final preparations for their project to improve the city’s wastewater system.
The city council received an update during their meeting Tuesday, May 20. City clerk Sarah Clubine tells KMMO News that crews led by Bennett, Incorporated will mobilize during the first week of June to install the new wastewater lines. The lines, along with improvements to the treatment plant, are part of Brunswick’s $5 million system-wide overhaul covered by American Rescue Plan Act funds allocated last fall.
In other action, the city council also voted Tuesday night to cash out one of the city’s certificates of deposit to fund additional street repavement projects. Clubine notes that Brunswick continues to look for a new police officer, with applications now open for interested candidates.
The Brunswick City Council next meets June 17.
