William Henry “Bill” Cordes, born December 29, 1940, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 19, 2025, at Good Shepherd Care Community in Concordia, MO.  A lifelong Concordia resident, Bill spent most of his life as a farmer.  He was active with St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where he held various offices over the years.  After he retired from farming, he moved to town and worked for the Good Shepherd Care Community complex and spent time doing woodcrafts.  One of his favorite pastimes more recently was coloring, which was evident in his surroundings.  His smile and laugh will be missed by those who knew him.

Bill leaves behind two daughters: Diane (James) Clark of Lee’s Summit, MO, and Nancy (Daniel) Breneman of St. Charles, MO; one brother, Wallace (Betty) Cordes of Castle Rock, CO; four grandchildren: Amanda, Melissa, Bradley and Molly; several great-grandchildren; niece, nephew and step-children.

He is preceded in death by one son, Allen Wayne Cordes; his wife, Linda S. Cordes; and his parents, William and Frieda (Schumacher) Cordes.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Concordia.  Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.  Burial will follow in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery.
