
A handful of high school baseball teams have had to wait until Tuesday, May 27 to take the field again as MSHSAA’s state tournaments continue.
Wellington-Napoleon’s sectional against the Cairo Bearcats is now scheduled for Tuesday evening in Wellington. The winner will face St Elizabeth, following the Hornets’ 9-1 win over the Northwest Mustangs on Monday in St Elizabeth.
Also taking place Monday night was Eugene’s 3-0 victory over Westran in Class Two, ending the Hornets’ season at 16-8. At Liberty Park in Sedalia, Tipton rolled past Concordia 9-1, setting the Cardinals up for a clash with Maysville after the Wolverines defeated St Joseph Christian 4-3.
The Class Three sectionals begin Tuesday, with Holden welcoming Lone Jack and Macon traveling to St Louis to face Priory. In Class Four, Moberly will host Tolton Catholic, while Chillicothe will visit St Joseph Benton. All these games have scheduled start times of 5 p.m.
