Two subjects were arrested and charged following a traffic stop by the Boonville Police Department.

According to a probable cause statement, Boonville Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling in the city limits on Monday, May 19. Officers report the vehicle had no tail lights showing at all. Police made contact with the driver, identified as Trevor Summers, and his passenger, Katilynn Rearick. Police then removed a firearm holstered between the driver’s seat and center console.

After police were denied consent to search the vehicle, a K9 unit was called and alerted to the presence of a controlled substance in the vehicle. Authorities located small baggie with methamphetamine as well as a glass pipe with a residue from the drug. Police also an AR Remington rifle in the back seat of the vehicle.

Both subjects have been charged with felonies for possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of a weapon. Additionally, Rearick has been charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, for having access both weapons in the vehicle despite being a convicted felon. Bond for each subject was set at $40,000.

Both subjects were due for counsel status hearings on Tuesday, May 27. No other court dates have been set at this time.
