The Marshall Municipal Utilities Board of Public Works made a motion to begin replacing the boiler in the Recycle Center building during its meeting Wednesday, May 28.
Electric Production Director Jarad Muller reported the boiler in the Recycle Center has quit working several times over the past few years. He says the department has made repairs to the machine, but several repair companies have indicated that the current unit is not large enough for the building.
The board approved Muller’s recommendation to request proposals to replace the heating boiler in the building. The budget was set at $20,000.
In other news, the board received an update regarding bids for the Miami #1 Substation switchgear replacement project. MMU has received four bids for the project. Toth and Associates is currently reviewing the bids and hopes to make a recommendation soon.
