New Saline County Emergency Management Director Brad Hinz recently spoke about his transition to the office ahead of current Director Tony Day’s retirement at the end of June.

Hinz retired from the State after spending more than 30 years working in juvenile justice. Hinz most recently spent 25 years as the Chief Juvenile Officer for Saline County. Hinz says he hopes the skills he acquired over the course of his career will translate to his new role as EMA Director.

Hinz has already developed a plan for his first few weeks at the helm. Hinz says he plans to introduce himself to local governments and undergo training with FEMA.

Hinz is currently working with Day to help make the transition as smooth as possible. Day has promised to remain as a resource for Hinz and the EMA office even after his retirement on June 30.
