The Marshall Public Library is kicking off its summer reading program with a kick-off party on Monday, June 2, encouraging kids to sign up and set their reading goals this summer.
Marshall Public Library Director Matt Rahner says this event will be the first in a series of activities associated with the library’s annual summer reading program. This year’s program, Kaleidoscope of Fun, will feature events every week for children of all ages. Rahner says the kick-ff party will include a petting zoo, face-painting, and food courtesy of the Optimist Club of Marshall.
The summer library program includes events for three different age groups. A complete schedule is available on the Marshall Public Library’s website. Rahner says the goal of the program is keep kids reading throughout the summer to prepare them for the next school year. Rahner also spoke about a finale party scheduled for July 31.
The kick-off party will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m. in the parking lot of the Marshall Public Library.
