
A Sedalia man was arrested and charged after the Pettis County Sheriff’s Department responded to a physical disturbance on Wednesday, May 28.
According to the department, deputies were dispatched to a Pettis County residence where Kelton Hunter allegedly assaulted a woman. Hunter left the scene before the deputies arrived. The victim told authorities that Hunter had choked and smacked her before leaving.
Later that same night, deputies responded to another disturbance at Hunter’s apartment where he reportedly threatened and chased three individuals with a knife.
Authorities later located Hunter and placed him under arrest. Hunter was uncooperative and began resisting. He ended up doing more than $750 in damage to a patrol vehicle by kicking the rear passenger window while being detained.
Hunter is facing felony charges of domestic assault in the third degree, unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action, and property damage in the first degree. Bond was set at $25,000 cash or surety. No court dates have been set at this time.
