A Kingsville man lost his life after his motorcycle went off a highway east of Lone Jack on Saturday, May 31.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the 66-year-old driver was heading south on Route F, when at around 7 p.m. south of Colbern Road his bike went off the roadway and became airborne. The motorcycle struck a ditch and the overturned. The driver was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead an hour later. A 54-year-old woman from Odessa was a passenger on the bike and suffered moderate injuries in the crash. She was taken to another hospital for treatment. Troopers say neither person was wearing the proper safety gear at the time of the crash.
