The Marshall City Council will have two proposed ordinances to consider at their meeting Tuesday, June 3.
The proposed ordinances were added to the agenda Monday afternoon and pertain to code enforcement. One proposed ordinance would allow the enforcement of code violations through the Marshall Municipal Court, rather than exclusively through the Board of Code Enforcement. The other proposed ordinance would allow the city to deliver notice of a code violation by conspicuously posting the notice on the property in question.
The council will also have a new liquor license to consider, for Scott Guthrey of Loveless Pizza Tavern. The Marshall City Council meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the Marshall City Office.
A light agenda awaits the Slater City Council on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. The council will receive an update from Mayor Terry Jordan about Steve McQueen Days and the Slater Farmers Market. They’ll have an opportunity to review the 2024 audit and the water department’s consumer confidence report.
